Antenna is used, works fine.  I have misplaced the power adapter so it's not included, but you don't need it for the antenna to work.  You can also use a standard 12volt adaptor to power it, but in my opinion, the GAIN feature in these kind of antennas does not help bring in a signal and actually makes the signal worse.  Without it, it works like a normal antenna.  Here's the literature from the Radio Shack Website.
