Iron Maiden's Live After Death CD is often considered one of the greatest live recordings of all time and rightfully so. I just picked up a live DVD version of the album and it is fantastic. The whole band sounds great throughout and the showmanship of all the members is amazing. Bruce Dickinson struggles a bit with his vocals at first, but as the concert goes on he gets much better.
Perhaps the most amazing part of the concert is the stage itself. The concert was recorded in 1985 during the World Slavery tour right after Powerslave was released. The stage contains all sorts of Egyptian Mythology paraphanelia and even has a giant mummified version of Eddie that pops out right behind the drum kit.
Setlist:

- Revelations
- Flight of Icarus
- Rime of the Ancient Mariner

The DVD is a 2 disc set. The first disc contains the setlist posted above from a show in Long Beach, California, while the second disc has a ton of bonus features.
The second disc contains a one hour documentary entitled The History of Iron Maiden, Part 2 which is extremely interesting. It chronicles the band as they write and record Powerslave and embark on the 193 date World Slavery Tour.
The second disc also contains another documentary, Behind the Iron Curtain, which shows the band touring Poland while the Cold War is occurring. This documentary contains a lot of live footage from the Polish shows and even shows Iron Maiden performing Smoke on the Water at a wedding.
The second disc also features 50 minutes of footage from their performance at the first ever Rock in Rio festival. This performance is great and even shows Bruce get hit in the face with a guitar.
There are a few other bonus features as well including a short documentary showing Iron Maiden touring in San Antonio on the Piece of Mind tour, artwork, tour dates, the tour program as well as promotional clips for the tour.
Overall this DVD is perfect. The recording may be a bit old, as it was remastered from VHS tapes, but it is still very professional. The angles are excellent and every band member can be clearly seen whenever they need to be. The concert sounds great in 5.1 surround sound and I really have no complaints. The bonus DVD is almost as interesting as the concert itself containing tons of special features all of which are great.
Every metal fan should own this DVD, not just every Iron Maiden fan but every metal fan. It is one of the most historic live performances of all time.
