VGN's Videogame Character Battle-UPDATE: Roster Closed

So I've wanted to do one of these on this website for a while. I'm stealing this idea from GameFaq's. How it works is like this:
Nominate a Videogame character to participate in a winner takes all tournament. Battles will take place between only 2 characters at a time. The winner will be determinded by the amount of votes each character recieves. Pretty simple really. If there are any questions, just ask. Also check out gamefaqs.com to get a better picture of what I'm thinking.
So, who do you want to see face off to the death? I'm going to Nominate Solid Snake.

EDIT: I made an executive decision to swap Nancy Drew for Pyramid Head. Knowing this audience, I think Nancy would have won by default. I want to at least try one of these semi-"serious" before Nancy Drew dominates. Sorry to all her fans.

I want to nominate Bo Jackson from Tecmo Bowl, the most badass character ever in a game. also consider M.Bison from the original Street Fighter II arcade game. He is the hardest, cheapest boss ever.

I'm going to have to pick Gordon Freeman. Nothing more badass than an average scientist stepping up to the plate and saving the world (with only a crowbar).

I nominate Nancy Drew. Not only is she a total bad ass, but she's also hot.
You might think Solid Snake could defeat here, but while he's sticking a needle in his throat, Nancy will make a poison dart out of a sewing needle and an old receipt and shove it through Solid Snake's eye. Just like she did in Nancy Drew and the Mystery of the Laughing Skull. Or at least that's how I imagine the game went down since I never played it.

Okay the polls are now closed. I had a few more then I needed. I'm going to have to limit it to 16 so for those of who you nominated more then one, I'll randomly choose just one or so until it evens out to 16 total.
