Any of you all taking November 7th off to play Gears of War 2 all day, or picking it up at the midnight release?

Nah. I can wait a few days. I'll pick it up after launch so I don't have to deal with "Oh you didnt pre order? Well we have hundreds of copies here but I have to lie and tell you that they're all preorders" crap that Gamestop pulls.

I went ahead and pre-ordered it, but a friend of mine is going to pick it up at midnight if they allow it. Pretty psyched for this game.

I don't have an Xbox 360, but even if they released it on PC I would skip it. Gears of War 1 on PC satiates my desire for pointless killing fun.

it's supposed to be the big one for GOW2 in NYC
some guy from the team will be there and there should be some free shit

Amazon shipped it to me, I think it arrives today. I'll add it to the pile under Resistance 2, Fable II, Fallout 3, GTA IV, and others.
One day I'll be sick and laying in a hospital bed, and I'll be able to play these games between convulsive episodes.

Wow that Gears of war 2 gun on amazon really is plastic. I thought it was metal...$140 is crazy. I wonder who actually bought that thing? And what the hell is weapons grade plastic?

I got the game
the midnight launch was cool
I got some free hats and a poster signed by the senior producer and the lead programer
there werent that many people there
there was 5 times as many at my local gamestop when I picked up GTA4 at midnight
and this was supposed to be the big event, I think it was the weather
anyways the game is awesome

Toronto's launch party was amazing:
they held it underground in an old and unused subway (metro/underground) station. that station is mainly used for filming movies now so it typically looks like NYC's subway lol

I played through Gears of War 2 tonight and beat it. Very fun game. I haven't tried playing the Horde mode, but I've heard that is a ton of fun.

The single player is so freaking amazing, I can't believe it.
one of the best games I've ever played. In the action genre I think it's by far the best.

Yeah definitely one of the best games I've ever played. Much like GoW 1 with new stuff and campaign I thought.
