It's awesome. There's a lot to do and the world is really interesting. I'm 8 hours into it and loving it. It has more direction than Oblivion did.

It's post apocalyptic Obilvion with guns and teammates. If you liked Oblivion, you'll like this.

I didn't like Oblivion and I love fallout 3. I think its because the main quest line is more engaging and overall the game has more direction imo.

You might like the storyline more, but the gameplay is all the same. Fetch quest, fetch quest, fight one of 5 different bad guys, fetch quest.

I like the combat though. They made the FPS type gameplay work in an RPG. It doesn't feel gimped, but it isn't a shooter either. VATS is cool too. It adds strategy to the combat.

I like both games quite a bit too, and I agree that VATs is wicked fun to use. One thing I don't like about Fallout though is that it's hard to really see your character much. I don't know why I spent so much time with the customization when all I can really see is his back. At least in Oblivion, you could really see your character and what they were wearing while in inventory, and during gameplay you could take the camera 360 around your character.

Thats true. I worked hard to get the hair right and make sure the face didn't look completely stupid. Apparently the only time you get to see it is when looking at your dad. At least so far anyway.

Yeah, I gave my guy a badass beard to promote a really haggard, wanderer type look. And all I see is his back. Oh well, things to improve on for Fallout 4 I suppose. :)

I don't even see his back. I play completely in first person.
when you're running in third person it looks like you're sliding on ice.

Is it really worth buying? There are lots of good games coming out and I can't decide which to get. Oblivion bored me but this looks better. Still I don't know if I should get this or maybe wait for Gears of War 2 or Mirror's Edge.

Get it. I thought Oblivion was boring too, but I really like Fallout 3.

Finally got outside the vault (and learned how to equip weapons) and am basically roaming around. I'll have to see if it gets better.

Shhhh I've barely progressed the plot. But does it seem like the game gives you almost no ammo at all? I have a shit load of weapons but never seem to have ammo or health =/

Honestly dude the game throws so much ammo and health stuff at you it gets crazy.
Early on you'll be slightly low on ammo though.

Yeah, I'm still very early on in the game so thats probably why then. I finally decided to stop roaming around and go to the GNR station. I have slightly more ammo/health now.

Nimbus. Get it now. Nocturne acording to me is the most interesting of the Shin Megami Tensei series. (compared to Digital Devil Saga and that other offshoot whose name I forget)

Damn this game is huge.
I'm pretty much evil as fuck in the game. It isn't really that rewarding of an experience when you are a complete douchebag. Actually I'm not sure if un-rewarding is the right word, but its definitely difficult being very bad, since it just leaves you feeling sorta empty afterward. I guess it's a good thing that this game is capable of creating that feeling.
Anyhow, I'm enjoying it in the early going, gotta pursue the main quest a bit though (I haven't yet), otherwise I'll just get endlessly sidetracked, which is what caused me to never finish Oblivion.

I am waiting to pick this one up. I just barely got Oblivion, and I am loving it, so no real reason to skip that solid 80-100 hours of gameplay.
By the way, I have been asked if I ever feel bad for being evil videogames. I always say no, the people I am killing are imaginary. How do you guys feel?
