ESRB Rates Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 for PS3.

The reason I've never bought MVc2 for PS2 is it comes on a CD instead of a DVD, which has trouble loading on most PS2s.  I'm not going to shell out $100 bucks for a game that likely won't work on my PS3.  I could buy a Dreamcast and a copy of MVc2 for Dreamcast for the same price as a PS2 MVc2, but fighting sticks for Dreamcast aren't cheap, and I'd have a Dreamcast taking up space.

So, problem solved.  I'm not very good at SFII Turbo, but I think I could have fun playing online, even though I would mostly loose.  It's more fun to win though, so I'm pretty excited about MVc2, which I'm much better at.

This seems to be a big FU to EA from Marvel.  Clearly if Marvel is re-releasing MVc2 as a greatest hits, they are considering a MvC3 from Capcom with Ghost Rider, Thor, F4, etc.

MvC2 works on the PS3. I bought it on eBay earlier this year for $60.

I truly wish that they would make a MvC3 with Thor to complete the Avengers and F4. I don't care much for Ghost Rider, but I'm sure that might make him worthy.

Street Fighter Alpha on the PS3 (via Playstation Store) sucks. The game is ok, of course, but it has long load times for game saved on your HDD. At least it was only $4.99.

Does the Ps3 have trouble reading cd's too or do you have a Ps3 with limited BC?

I'm also excited about this. I'm not a big fighting game fan but MVC2 is one of the few I really like. The $75-$100 price of used copies has kept me from getting it. I haven't bought any digital download games on Ps3 or 360 because I'm not too confidant in them in the long term but I would buy MVC2 on PSN.

I'm super excited about this being released on 360; MvC2 was one of my favorite DC games....It's the reason I still miss my DC and CD-R collection.

A guy on Amazon was complaining about his copy not loading well because of the CD format, but Nimbus says it works on PS3 - so mystery solved.  I haven't seen it for less than $80 bucks - I bought the PS3 a month or two ago and want to get it for an arcade cabinet I'm building.  I'm gonna wait and see how SFII HD works before deciding to get the PS2 disc or wait for the PSN version.

My PS3 was the original launch model. First in line at Wal*Mart on day one, if I might add.

It would be TRULY badass if they made a MvC2 HD. But seeing how long SFII HD is taking, I don't know about that.

I need to see if they will attempt online coop with this one. With all the crazy animations I dont think it will work online without some serious lag.

Sadly I gave up my Dreamcast and MvsC2 for the PS2 version. And when I say sadly I mean, I hear now that if MvsC2 comes out for XBLA and PSN that will drop the price significantly on the PS2 version. LAME

Ah well ... having MvsC2 on XBLA with achievements? YES PLEASE!?!

i was trying to download this for my dreamcast, i guess ill just wait for the PS3 version now... since i was having trouble burning it with Alcohol 120%

Sweet.  I just got my PS2 Street Fighter Anniversary pad so I could play SF3 on the PS3 (Street fighter anniversary for the PS2).  I also got it in anticipation of SF4.  I would rather use a stick (for some reason my Pelican Universal Arcade Pro stick doesn't work PS2->USB on the Ps3).  But they haven't come out with a wireless stick yet.  Now I can use the awesome pad on MvsC.

I have two of the original Dreamcast arcade sticks from Japan.  These things are the bomb.  Solid, heavy, metal bottoms, with real arcade joystick and six buttons.  It's the closest thing you can get to an arcade cabinet without having one.  I use it with my Dreamcast to PC adapter on GameTap every so often.  At least I did, when I used to play video games.
