So, are there any games at all this year that you're looking forward to? How about in the next couple years? I'm not a Wii owner (obviously) but I've been astounded at the lack of quality titles on the Horizon. I know a couple people that have traded in theirs for something else. I know the system has Mario, Zelda, and Wii Fit (if you're into that sorta thing) but what else is there?
The only thing that's caught my attention at all in the last 8 months is the new Punch Out that's coming out. I've actually considered getting one to play that game but I don't see anything else out for it.
Am I missing something here? This is not to bash the Wii but I'm just curious what the main draw is.

The game that gets the most play in my house is Wii Sports bowling. 4 year old loves it and my Mom and Dad request the Wii come along with him when he spends the night over there. Other then that, Zelda sucked with Wii controls and the wolf gameplay was just no fun to me. Mario Galaxy was fun for a little while but it was not as good as the reviews made it out to be. I like New Super Mario Brothers much better on DS. The other people at my job are older then me and they love the Wii. I am the "game guy" in the office and they always tell me how much fun thieir familes have with Wii Fit, Wii Ski, and other fitness and minigame collections like Carnival Games. I will also point out that none of their kids are "gamers" and the Wii if the first console in their households.

Nintendo laughs at you and your lack of interest in their console.
Silly American. When will you learn? Nintendo doesn't need your money. They will just revamp the console and sell more! Games aren't important. The power of imagination drives sales, not games. Allow people to imagine they can swing a sword, or run around their room dodging bullets, or getting into a street fight, and their consoles will sell! Never mind that you have to stand in place and the accuracy is shit. BUY BUY BUY BUY BUY!!!!!
Seriously though, they got that new extra thing-a-ma-jig deal that you click on and it makes it MORE accurate. I imagine we'll see something being done with that.

JamesPatrick recently made a nice thread about some cool looking Wii games coming out in the near future; I'll just go ahead and cut 'n paste the games:
-No More Heroes 2 -Muramasa: The Demon Blade (Think Odin Sphere) -Rune Factory Frontier (Harvest Moon with monsters, dungeons, story and a point) -Arc Rise Fantasia (JRPG in the Grandia vein also similiar to Eternal Sonata) -Valhalla Knights: Eldar Saga (JRPG with online co op and Wii speak)
They might not be the blockbusters some are looking for, but they do actually look pretty awesome. I'm not a Wii owner though. : (

Hmm I'll check into those. I'm just a little taken aback at the lack of hype of any Wii titles since E3. So far I feel I made the right choice in saving my 250 bucks.

Well let's see... Animal Crossing City Folk for one is a game i've been waiting for since the Wii was announced, The Conduit from High Voltage looks to be incredible, and Punch Out Wii is another one i'm going to buy.
I'm still playing loads of Brawl and Mario Kart online and I can always download Virtual Console games or Wiiware games to hold me over for the next release. When you are downloading RPG's or long games such as Paper Mario and Ocarina of Time trust me when you say you won't run out of things to do.
Games I have beaten that I still recommend are: Super Mario Galaxy Twilight Princess Metroid Prime 3 Wario Ware Smooth Moves Mario Kart Wii Super Smash Bros Brawl
The ladder two of which have lengthy staying power thanks to their online modes and large amount of unlockables.

OneChanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers, Castlevania Judgement and Madworld are just a couple of the top of my head. There are a number of other ones upcoming too, you just don't hear too much about these types of games because Nintendo seems to be obsessed with bullshit like Wii Music.

"Super Mario Galaxy
Twilight Princess
Metroid Prime 3
Wario Ware Smooth Moves
Mario Kart Wii
Super Smash Bros Brawl"
Problem with this is that I feel like these are the same games Nintendo has been shooting out at us for the last 10-15 years. I know it's to each his own, but I guess I don't get it.

Talk about an overstatement. Play Sunshine then play Galaxy, prepare to shit bricks. Twilight Princess I will say however was more-so too similar to past zelda games but still enjoyable. Metroid Prime 3 is the closing to the astounding Prime series. Wario Ware Smooth Moves is for your minigame fix. Mario Kart Wii while being very similar to past games has it's own feel to it and the tracks are some of the best in Mario Kart History
And well Brawl, is no where near like the past two games if you REALLY want to get technical.
So, my question to you is, is the only reason you feel these games Nintendo have so called been shooting out for the past 10-15 years just because they contain the same characters? Would you be fine if Super Mario Galaxy just had a different character in it? Because it's your loss if you want to miss out on some of the best level design in gaming history.
Because the fact of the matter is whether or not you think these are the same games over and over again, they aren't.

I always laugh when people say that Nintendo games today are the same as they were 10-20 years ago. Thats so far from the truth it's not even funny. Nintendo does the best at reinventing franchises. I don't think any of the console Zelda games are the same unless the basic core adventure/puzzle solving gameplay counts as them all being the same.

I've played the stuff Nintendo has out there. Wii to me is basically gamecube 1.5 with a new controller. I've yet to be impressed with anything that I've played on it. That includes Mario Galaxy. Maybe if I spent more time with it I'd change my mind.
However, there really isn't anything on there that interest me. And my initial point was to bring up games coming up in the future. Madworld looks kinda interesting just for the style alone but not nearly enough to make me want to go out and buy a system. I'm not buying Nintendo's hype.

No I don't care if it has the same characters or not. Metal gear is one of my all time favorite franchises and it contains the same character. I guess it's basically because I just don't care about Mario anymore. Smash Bro's brawl is the same thing. Zelda is a gamecube game (and not really my thing anyway) Mario Kart? Really is it that different? Metroid?
I don't see a big difference in these games. But most likely the problem isn't that the games are similar to each other, I just don't care for any of those titles. And I don't even see a new Zelda or Mario on the horizon. This is pretty much exactly what Nintendo did with the gamecube. Release a couple big franchises and then nothing. Wii Fit is still the big selling and it's an exercise game. Cool for those who are into it, but it's not for me. Listen back to Kevin's "What's up with the Wii" rant on the Tribute show and you'll get a good idea of where I'm coming from.

Cmon, are you really going to stand there and rag Zelda and Metroid for being "essentially the same game time after time" and then hold up Metal Gear as a counter example? Ok, we get it, you don't like the Nintendo franchises, cool, no one says you have too. But don't sit there and bullshit us that it's because the games on the other systems (which to be frank are more deserving of the ".5" moniker to be honest) are so much more innovative, because when you boil it down, it's all the same shit we've been playing since the PS1 and N64.

Really? Gamecube 1.5? Silly because I can simply just state that your PS3 is actually a PS2.5 in disguise with a blu ray player and the same controller that's what... 14 years old?
Also I laughed at the fact that you mentioned Metal Gear... a game that has been unchanged for so long I can't even remember. You asked what games i'm looking forward to, I replied and stated what are good games. You asked what else is there then came up with the bullshit excuse "I don't like those games". Well then what the fuck are you asking the question for? Either this is flame bait or you are just brain dead.
I'm guessing the latter.

Oh please Mario. Back to your old "Mr. Offended" ways? Haha. Seriously man. Relax.
I get that YOU like those type of games. Besides most of the games you mentioned were games that are already out for the system. My original question was regarding games in the future which I see none off. Like I said earlier: Mad World, and punch out maybe. But that's about it.

I disagree. Where have you ever seen a game like Little Big Planet? And it's not just games that are innovative but games that have at least taken a noticable leap from one console to the next.
Even games like Resident Evil 5 are basically prettier versions of the same type of game; survival horror. But at least the game looks, sounds, and feels like something worthy of a new console. I just can't wrap my mind around buying Mario Kart for the Wii when really the only noticeable change is the controller. Again that's fine if it's your thing, but I guess I'm still missing the logic in it.
Besides I think only one person has pointed to any future games they're looking forward to.
And I wasn't using Metal Gear as a counter example. I was using it as an example where I do like games with the same characters. Zelda and Mario are great in their own right, just not my cup of tea. Never finished a Zelda game.

Take a look at the Conduit, and all the games that sheep posted. Honestly there is plenty out for the system and more that's coming. Also how in any way shape or form do you think i'm offended by this? I just can't believe that someone honestly can ask "where are all the games" then after they are presented to the person say that you don't like them. Well that's fine but you asked the forum as a whole as to what was coming and what's on the Wii. I answered. No need to get your spiderman panties in a bunch because you don't like the games a system offers.
