Streaming Shows Information
|
|
|
Just an FYI. I am experimenting with a new software package that allows for live streaming on both Shoutcast and live365. The streaming shows will be up and down, and spotty performance while I mess with it. This will go on for the next few days. Show schedules and such will be mixed up during this time as well.
The physical podcast and download shows will be available tonight when I get home. We had technical issues on the last show, and the show was divided in half, and I had to recombine and recompile. It took longer because it kept blowing up my crappy encoder software. I should just switch to Lame, but I'm lazy.
Anyway, up tonight, sorry for the delay.

That's CBS Radio Mystery Theater.
Currently I'm broadcasting the same shows on live365 and Shoutcast. live365 has better bandwith and allows for music. Shoutcast is for slower speed and no music. At the moment, both are playing the exact same stuff.
The software uses Delphi (An advanced version of Pascal) to manage itself. I need to switch off the Shoutcast when music is playing, and switch it back on for talk audio. A project for another time.
The current schedule breaks down like this. (Shows repeat until the next show starts)
12am MediSpective
6am Cleveland Sports Radio
9am Morning Wakeup Music (Girlfriend's music show)
12pm Progressive House Music
2pm CBS Radio Mystery Theater
3pm Metal Music
7pm Born Stubborn Radio
9pm Domain Cleveland Music (Not ready yet)
That's the "current" official rotation. But like I said, I'm currently working on the feeds, so this will be up and down and mixed up until this weekend when I have more time.

Back in the 70's my Dad would invite us into his room and let us listen to the CBS Radio Mystery Theater. It was the last major narrative radio show. Sort of like a Twilight Zone for the radio. It has spooky stories and major actors for the time. It went from the 60's (I think) until 1982. Some of the broadcasts include news clips and commercials from the time period. So those are kinda fun. Quality varies. I have almost the entire collection so thought I'd throw some on there for an hour a day. No biggie.

when I lived out west I use to pickup a Vancouver station that would play old radio shows @ midnight... they would run old classic shows like "The Shadow" and other cool mystery stories.
It was neat to hear the old commercials too, they left the entire programing intact... very neat... now they have a channel on Satellite too (or, at least they did)

I've changed the live365 link off the front page. It now points to the show's streaming schedule. So you can see what songs are playing and when. live365 will play ALL the shows. At some point here Shoutcast will only play talk shows. Otherwise it'll be off the air to conserve bandwith.
Other than that, the streaming shows are working fine now. Some of the music shows will be replaced by other people's shows that I have in the works, but for now music filling those slots.
That is all.
