I got one of these right before it bit it
I have fond memories of the saturn. I remember getting one in 96 or 97. It came with Virtua cop, fighter, and racing.
It always felt like it had potential. They had the modem for it, they added the analog flight pad for Nights, it had the cartridge slot, and on paper it seemed just as powerful as the PlayStation. But at the end of the day, they just didn't release that many good games for it. There were some, but the vast majority were just plain bad.
I always read it was hard to program for. It came out early and didn't really have great third party support. I have one hooked up in another room, I don't play it much though. I have Guardien Heroes which I got for a steal from Rhino (now gamestop).
Guardian Heroes is a much sought after title. Best keep it. It will appreciate in value.
It was hard to program for. Instead of one processor, it had two, and they were RISC, which was new at the time. The other problem was that Sega only released updated programming libraries to third parties after they had used them. So that's why Virtua Fighter 2 looked so amazing, but most other third party stuff was ass.
It WAS a great 2D game system though. Sega should have capitalized on that feature more than trying to fight the PS1 on its 3D capabilities.
My favorite games for the Saturn were Dragon Force, Panzer Dragoon II Zwei, Virtual-On and pretty much all of the Capcom fighting games were superior on the Saturn. Oh, and you can't fucking forget Daytona USA (DAYYYYTOOOONAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!)
I just pulled my Saturn out of storage today to hook up in my new office, and now I can't find my Saturn games... :(

You're not kidding Kevin. I went to CNN and the audience was nothing but geriatrics.

The Republican Convention is always filled with a bunch of "Good Ole Boys" like a rich man's rodeo. I can't stand it.

There's a really loud southerner on CNN's coverage of the RNC. "Yeeah! Fred Thompson! YEEEEEAH!" Seems to yell "yeah" for every applause break.

Bigdog, appears your 1 year was up on 8/12/2008. It reverts you back to Normal user status when that happens.
