The Sega Nomad returns as RetroGen

Remember the Sega Nomad? It was Sega's second portable system that played Sega Genesis/Mega Drive games. A company called Innex is bringing that concept back with the RetroGen, a new handheld that will play official Genesis/Mega Drive cartridges. Not only will your old cartridges play, but it will also have the ability to download licensed games to an SD card and played on a special development cart.

The RetroGen has a built-in battery that charges via USB so no more running to get AAs. The RetroGen will cost $50 when it comes to the US on July 25th.

I dunno... Do we really want to go back and play Genesis games at this point? It's already been rehashed a bazillion times. What I'd like to see is someone emulate the Sega Saturn and put that into a handheld with a bunch of old Saturn games. I want to play Nights and Panzer Dragoon Saga.

well if you want this you can already get it with a number of linux-based handheld consoles that'll do much more than just sega games
