Tecmo and Koei merger finalized.

Koei's(Dynasty warriors) merger with Tecmo(Dead or Alive, Ninja Gaiden) will be official in April 2009 under a stock deal valued at ¥20 billion, or $207 million.

The two companies intend to merge under a new holding company in April 2009. The holding firm is expected to generate over ¥70 billion ($727 million) in sales and reach a ¥16 billion ($166.2 million) operating profit by March 2012.

For comparison, Tecmo and Koei's combined revenue from December 2007 and March 2008 respectively, totaled ¥41.2 billion ($428 million) with a combined operating profit of ¥8.5 billion ($88.3 million).

Square Enix attempted to buy Tecmo earlier this year and Tecmo declined Square Enix's offer. Shortly after they announced plans to merge with Koei.
