Odyssey 2000

Modified By admin on 2/20/2008 11:38:51 AM

Supposedly came out in 1977 and was the same as the Odyssey 300 except it had an additional game and wider knobs.  Here's the specs for the 300 from Pong-Story.com

Magnavox continued with the Odyssey 300 in 1976, which was one of the first system to use a single game chip containing the major circuitry of a PONG system. This system was Magnavox' answer to Coleco Telstar, the first game to use the GI AY-3-8500 chip.

Re: Odyssey 2000

Well, the 2001 is a PAL clone of the 3000.  Technically the 3000 is a redesigned 2000.   So I don't have a 2001.  If I ever find one in the wild, I'd probably buy it.  The 2100 is an expanded PAL version and I own that model.

I "should" have all the rest.  Part of the reason for this forum is to organize the pictures and see what is all in the current inventory of systems I own.  Once I have everything established I'll move all the pictures to a proper page where folks can flip through them.  That'll be a long time from now though.  I still have a lot of photos to put up and boxes to dig through.  And I need to take a lot of retakes since so many pictures didn't come out.  (Blurry lens)

I "should" have all the Telstar systems as well.  Including the rare Montgomery Ward system.  There was a fleet of these made as well.

Some notable things I am missing include Atari Pong.  I had the Tele-Games clone of it, but it was destroyed in the great kitchen flood of 1997.  I also don't have a Neo Geo Cartridge System or Neo Geo CD system.  One day I'll bite the bullet and buy one.  There are so many in the wild it has never been a priority to get one.  And my Laser-Active is broken.  I do still have it and maybe it can be repaired, but I'd really like to claim one in working order.  I also don't have a Wonderswan or a GamePark.

That is in no-way the limit of systems I'm missing, but those are all high profile items that I should have, but currently do not.

dang, you must have an amazing collection. I think the only way for me to actully be able to collect like you is when I become rich and famous and have a big enough house and wallet for it.

about the Neo Geo, AES (home) may cost you a bit too collect; no clue about the CD version. I personaly want a modded MVS arcade board that has been turned into a console, so I can buy cheap neo geo games (MVS games are generaly cheaper then the AES counterparts). for now I will settle for the small collection that the wii has on its virtual console...

EDIT: Is it me, or does the neo geo actully look good on a HDTV?

Maybe one day I'll be able to tell you.  Right now, I don't have one so can't hook it up.

I dont have one either, but the virtual console neo geo games seem to be quite fitting for HD, but then again that may just be me

Whoever buys something like a R4 for just homebrew is a fag

NutMan At: 10:08 PM

Kevin: the r4 is basically just ised to pirate ds games although it does have legit uses like running homebrew and emulators.
